EPA 608 Universal Technician and R-410a Certification

Experience Safety Training is the Industry Leader in EPA Universal Certification!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a mandatory program that requires all HVAC technicians to be certified before performing maintenance, service, repair, or disposal of an appliance that contains refrigerant chemicals.

We offer ONE DAY training for BOTH Universal AND R-410a!

As an EPA authorized training provider, Experience Safety offers four types of certifications:

  • Type I - for servicing small appliances
  • Type II – for servicing high and very high pressure appliances
  • Type III – for servicing low pressure appliances
  • Universal – for servicing all appliances

To obtain certification, technicians must pass a closed-book proctored test which contains 25 questions on EPA regulations, and 25 questions on refrigerant recycling procedures.  You may choose to test in only one area, or take the universal test which consists of 100 questions (4 parts).  The minimum passing score is 70% on each part.  Experience Safety has successfully trained thousands to pass the first time!
